Lindsey Forrest

President, United Students of UAS - Juneau (2007-2008)
Pro-Tem, Coalition of Student Leaders
Member, System Governance Council

I'm currently the United Students of the University of Alaska Southeast Juneau Vice President. I'm active in Alpha Phi Omega. I am getting my B.A. in English, I'm not sure which area of English I want to continue into and I'm also thinking about getting into the Law Minor here at UAS- Juneau. After I get done here at UAS I'm going to travel to Japan and around the world teaching English. When this is all done I might get into politics or I might not. I enjoy reading, when I have time, drawing, swimming, drinking coffee, running, hiking, camping and SNOWBOARDING! Hopefully this year will be a good one on the slopes! I love living in Alaska, although I don't think I'll stay here after I'm done teaching, and I love all the fresh are and fish! I think that the University is one of the most important things that Alaska has going for it and that it needs to be taken care of by the state, the federal government and the students.

My name is Jenifer Sandonato, President of the UAS Sitka Campus Student Government. I am a 26 years old New Yorker, and moved to Sitka over four years ago from just outside New York City. I have been a student at UAS since 2003 working towards a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree, and very much looking forward to the completion of my BLA in Summer 2007. I also have worked at the Sitka Campus for over 3 years in the Instructional Services and Registration department. Involvement in the University has become a passion for me. I also hold a passion for students whom I come in contact with. My daily involvement in a front line position allows me to assist students often and directly, trying my best to answer any and all questions, or find solutions. Recently, I was awarded the 2006 "Staff Make Student Count" award for exceptional customer service throughout the UA system, representing UA Southeast. UAS Sitka Campus has become my home and family. My hopes as Student Government President are to see the Sitka Campus strive to continue to be an exceptional place to learn where students have a voice in matters of their higher education institution. The Sitka Campus student body is composed of both local and distance students. I will work extra hard to keep contact with students both on campus and off campus and listen to your concerns and work to get results.
